Our Build a Standout Resume online course

While our one-on-one resume writing service is an excellent option to ensure that your resume conveys your abilities in the best way possible, we also offer an online course that walks you through crafting your resume step-by-step!

Once you finish the course and have your resume ready to go, you’ll also have the option to send it to us so we can edit it for grammar and phrasing and provide you with additional feedback.

Build a Standout Resume Online Course

In this blog post, we wanted to provide additional information about who the course is suitable for and answer some frequently asked questions.

Who is the course for?

We designed the course in an easy-to-follow format that will give you the guidance you need whether you are writing your first resume or simply looking to update your existing document to make it stronger and more effective.

We regularly work with clients ranging from current students to executives with effective results. The good news is that the same resume writing principles and best practices apply no matter where you are in your career!

We’ll teach you the same strategies we use for our clients so that you too can increase your chances of landing interviews for your dream jobs.

You’ll be able to capture significant value from the course if:

You’re looking to make a career change

If you’re looking to transition your career into a different sector, it can sometimes be difficult to grab the attention of recruiters, as you may not have previous experience in similar positions.

In the course, we teach you how to tailor the content of your resume to better highlight what recruiters in your target sectors are looking for in a candidate.

You don’t have a resume or haven’t updated yours in a long time

We walk you through crafting your resume every step of the way. If you don’t have a resume or have been out of the job market for a while, we’ll provide you with all the tools and information you need to put together an effective document.

You’ll receive video tutorials, an optimized resume template, brainstorming worksheets, and a reference sheet template so that you can write your resume as quickly and efficiently as possible.

If you’re having writer’s block, we give you the structure and guidance you need to save time and put together a resume that goes beyond just describing your day-to-day responsibilities.

You’re not getting results with your current resume

Studies show that recruiters spend just over seven seconds initially reading through a resume before determining whether it makes the initial cut.

In today’s online recruiting environment, they’re also receiving record numbers of applications, so they often use applicant tracking systems (ATS) to help them narrow down the applicant pool based on relevant keywords.

We teach you how to identify and naturally integrate these keywords to help your resume pass ATS screenings.

You generally consider yourself a decent writer but aren’t familiar with resume writing

Resume writing is a very specific writing style.

You want to use language that is direct and concise to give recruiters a concrete idea of what you accomplished in each of your roles and the value you bring to an organization.

If you already consider yourself a strong writer, you’ll be able to pick up the writing quirks that apply to resume writing: writing that works well in an academic environment, for example, is often deemed superfluous and ineffective in the context of a resume.

Even if you don’t consider yourself the best writer, we’ll teach you everything you need to know.

You’re overwhelmed by the task at hand and need a bit of guidance and motivation:

The course is broken down into mini video tutorials that explain exactly what to include and how to most effectively craft each component of your resume.

If you simply go through the videos and complete the tasks outlined, you’ll have a draft of your resume ready in as little as a few hours!

                      How is the course taught?

The course is broken down into six lessons that incorporate mini video tutorials taught by our founder and additional written guidance.

After watching each video, you’ll return to the resume template that we provide to work on the section discussed.

At the end, you’ll add finishing touches to polish off your document’s appearance, grammar, and style.

You’ll also have the chance to send it to us so we can provide additional feedback that will help you ensure your resume is on-point.

What if I’m not good at formatting?

We provide you with a resume template in Word format. The template is already pre-formatted and ATS-optimized, so all you have to do is fill in the necessary information!

If you would like to customize your fonts, we provide simple instructions for doing so within the course.

Do you offer any guarantees if I’m not pleased with the course?

We put a lot of time into designing the course, making sure to incorporate strategies and guidance we regularly share with our private clients to help them successfully land interviews.

If you go through the course and aren’t happy with it, we’ll provide you with a full refund.
